Barney's Farm

Barney’s Farm traces its roots back to the 1980s, when its founder, Derry Brett, embarked on an extended journey through Asia and the Middle East. Travelling through countries such as Afghanistan, Tibet, Pakistan, India, and Thailand, Derry collected landrace cannabis strains—pure, original varieties that have evolved naturally in their native regions over centuries. These landraces are prized for their unique properties and have formed the backbone of many modern cannabis hybrids.

Derry spent three formative years in the Himalayas, honing his craft by cultivating and crossbreeding these landrace strains. His focus was on selecting plants with exceptional THC content, aroma, and flavour. Armed with this expertise, he returned to Amsterdam in 1992 and took over Barney’s Coffee Shop, transforming it into a centre for cannabis breeding. With seeds developed in the Himalayas, Barney’s Farm swiftly earned a reputation for excellence, producing innovative strains that have won multiple Cannabis Cups. Today, the brand is internationally recognised, drawing enthusiasts from around the world to its Amsterdam base.

All seeds are strictly sold as souvenirs or collectables. Germination is illegal in most countries.
