5 Best Herbal Vaporizers: Ultimate Guide

Whether it’s buying a vape for yourself or as a birthday/Christmas gift for a friend, you may feel a little lost as to which one to pick. With such a huge selection of vaporisers available now, owing to its massive popularity, there are so many questions and considerations when making that first purchase. What type of oven is it? How strong is the battery life? How easy is it to use? That being said there’s always a pecking order when it comes to quality. For this list we’ll be focusing solely on portable vapes, so here we go!

1. The MIGHTY Vape

mighty-vaporizer

At number 1 we have the Mighty Vape from Storz & Bickel. This dry herb vape, which also uses concentrates, is widely considered the best around for portable vapes despite a lot of competition the past year. It’s easy as can be to use. All the temperature controls are placed on the front panel. Simply push the orange button, it turns on and heats up. Twist the top off and load up the oven. It has a patented hybrid oven, so it is both a convection and conduction, meaning both the bowl and air is heated up making it incredibly efficient. The Mighty will vaporize your herbs fully, extracting everything.

It has an effective cooling unit which will make the vapour airy and fluffy resulting in a very satisfying, flavourful vapour.

It has a fantastic battery life, utilizing two lithium-ion batteries, the Mighty typically lasts 90 minutes, this may vary slightly depending on the type of session. These are all good points to why the Mighty has finished number 1 on this list but the main point which I can’t emphasise enough is it’s consistency. The Mighty vaporizer is remarkably consistent, each time you use it the results are as outstanding as the next.

2. The PAX 3

The Pax 3 is your all-purpose vape, suitable for dry herb and wax. It’s the most portable vape on this list, meaning it’s super small, very discreet, can fit easily into any pocket, you could bring it almost anywhere.

It has a single-button design so it’s very easy to use for beginners. In fact the mouthpiece is the button! Simply press in the mouthpiece to turn on the device and press and hold to alter the temperature.

As if I needed another reason to look at my phone – The Pax 3 has bluetooth integration, all you have to do is download the app and you will have custom-temperature capabilities, for vaping snobs, like myself, this is very cool!

It comes with two dry herb oven lids, full oven and half oven, making it very efficient regardless of how long a session you want.

The Pax 3 also has lip sensing technology that detects when your lips touch the mouthpiece and makes real time adjustments to the oven ensuring it’s always at your desired pre-set temperature, in turn, suiting your inhale technique. Now that’s michelin star vaping.

There are very few vapes that are as compact and easy to operate with one hand than the Pax 3, couple that with a very smooth haptic feedback feature, a sturdy build, precise temperature control, Half-Pack Lid and concentrate insert, and you have yourself a very fine vaporiser.

3. Arizer Solo 2

The Arizer Solo 2 is a dry herb vaporiser with hybrid convection/ conduction heating.

It is so easy to use and essentially made up of two pieces – the body and the stem.

I found the airflow and vapour production very, very good; the draw is very easy and makes for big bodied, full flavour vapour.  This clean taste is down to the all glass vapour path, this is not common and makes the Arizer Solo 2 a very unique vape, and deserving of a spot on this list.

I love how easy it is to clean! All I had to do was rinse out the stem with hot water, brush out the bowl and I was good to go. So much quicker and simpler than other vapes I’ve used.

Another huge plus is the savage battery life… It can last up to three hours, but even if it dies mid session, you can simply charge as you vape, as the Solo II features pass-through charging.

If you’re looking for a portable vape that’s extremely easy to use and at a very reasonable price, the Arizer Solo 2 is your man.

4. X Max Starry 3.0

The first thing that caught my attention about the Starry 3.0 was the price, you’re getting premium features for a budget price, and I LOVE a bargain!

The X Max Starry 3.0 is a dry herb and concentrate vaporiser, complete with a ceramic oven and precision temperature control.

It’s smaller than I imagined but fits perfectly into my pocket or a purse and it has a nice weighty, solid feel to it as the body is made from anodised aluminum with a straight forward digital display.

I love the straw style ceramic zirconia mouthpiece, it is magnetic and pops in and out very comfortably. The magnet is strong so I had no worries about it popping out and making a mess in my backpack.

I really appreciated the haptic feedback feature, so once your vape has reached the desired temperature it vibrates, a very nifty feature for the price! It takes about 40 seconds to heat up, and produced a really good flavour and clouds for a conduction vape.

The Starry is powered by a single 18650 battery that is removable, and lasted me about 90 minutes. When you’re on the go or don’t have a charger available, you can simply replace an empty one with a fresh one and keep it going.

A great little vaporiser, great value for money, a solid build and very portable size makes the Starry a great option for first timers, or even as a back up travel device.

5. DaVinci IQC

First things first, the look and feel of the Davinci IQC is gorgeous. The sandblasted aluminum body comes in four vibrant, earthy colours, and feels solid and comfortable in hand.

This dry herb and wax vaporiser has a sharesafe mouthpiece made from antimicrobial polymers that inhibit the growth of microbes, making it safer to share.

The 51 light LED display is very cool and slick, the brightness can be dimmed to make it more discreet, which I love.

Thanks to the airtight vapour path of zirconia and glass, it keeps harmful plastics out of the vapour and ensures it is  pure, flavourful, potent and dense. This means that by keeping any plastic out of the vapour, you are getting the cleanest  The ceramic oven has 4 pre-set Smart heating profiles which gradually heat the oven during your session (which are set to 8 minutes max). Alternatively, if you prefer, you can choose a constant temperature in Precision mode, or Boost mode will heat up and hold the maximum temperature (210 degrees Celcius) whilst you hold down the control button.

The IQC comes with a USB-C rechargeable battery that can be charged within the vaporiser or externally, reaching full charge in only two hours!

The removable battery, coupled with the portable oven refill pods, make this one of the best vaporisers to use on the go.
